History of Mr. Bubble Bubble Bath

History of Mr. Bubble

For over 50 years Mr. Bubble has been an iconic brand and continues to be the best-selling bubble bath in the United States.

In 1961 Harold Schafer and the Gold Seal Company found a way to make bubble bath an affordable luxury and move it from department stores to drug stores. Mr. Bubble was born! The original Mr. Bubble formula was developed as a powdered bubble bath that promised to “Bubble kids clean” and leave no bathtub ring. Over time the iconic bubble bath was converted into a liquid formula.

After being purchased by The Village Company in 2008, Mr. Bubble was once again reformulated to create even more bubbles with a gentler clean. New products have also been introduced to bring the fun outside the tub. These include Foam Soap, Fizzy Bubble Bombs, and the new 3in1 Body Wash, Shampoo, & Conditioners.

As one of the most gentle children’s bubble bath products available, Mr. Bubble is consistently the overwhelming #1 Selling Bubble Bath Brand*. It is currently available wherever bubble bath is sold in the United States, including most grocery, drug, and mass merchandise stores.

In 2011, the brand celebrated its 50th birthday with special edition packaging and a year-long celebration for both consumers and retailers. The birthday also marked the introduction of an updated look for Mr. Bubble.
